Secondo Kristen Anderson-Lopez: “A causa del trauma subito da bambine, entrambe hanno una profonda paura di perdere l’altra. Elsa manifesta questa paura allontanando la sorella, mentre Anna lo fa aggrappandosi ad Elsa in maniera quasi disperata. Nella mia vita ho provato entrambe queste emozioni, e nella canzone ho cercato di riflettere entrambi questi modi di amare, che nascono da premesse buone ma in realtà sono sbagliati”.

Ciara Renée è nota al pubblico Disney per aver interpretato la parte di Esmeralda nel musical Il Gobbo di Notre Dame al Paper Mill Playhouse. Tra i suoi credits teatrali ci sono Pippin e Big Fish, mentre in televisione ha partecipato a serie come Strangers, Master of None, The Big Bang Theory, Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow e Flash. È la prima attrice afroamericana (per metà portoricana) a interpretare Elsa a teatro (il personaggio di Kristoff a teatro è afroamericano fin dal primo cast, mentre Anna ha avuto una understudy nera).

Per quanto riguarda McKenzie Kurtz, invece, quello con Frozen è il suo debutto a Broadway dopo aver studiato alla University of Michigan School of Music Theatre and Dance.

Ryan McCartan infine ha esordito a Broadway con Wicked nei panni di Fiyero, ha fatto parte del cast originale di Heathers ed è noto anche per la serie Tv di Disney Channel Liv & Maddie.

Il musical di Frozen arriverà a ottobre 2020 anche a Londra; nella produzione del West End Elsa sarà interpretata da Samantha Barks (Les Miserables).
