Il 15 gennaio è andato in onda in America il primo episodio di The Lion Guard, la serie animata spin-off di Il Re Leone.
Il cartoon, dedicato al pubblico dei più piccoli, vede come protagonista Kion, il secondo figlio di Simba e capitano dei Lion Guard, una squadra incaricata di vegliare sulle Terre del Branco e proteggere tutti gli animali.
Dopo l’episodio è arrivata online anche la prima canzone tratta dalla serie, intitolata Sisi Ni Sawa, ovvero “Siamo tutti uguali” in lingua swahili. Il brano è cantato da Kion e dalla sua nuova amica Jasiri, un cucciolo di iena che si rivela essere dalla parte dei buoni.
