Oltre la colonna sonora italiana con le voci di Marco Mengoni, Elisa, Edoardo Leo, Stefano Fresi, Cheryl Porter e Massimo Popolizio, Disney ha ovviamente diffuso anche la colonna sonora originale de Il Re Leone, con grandi star del calibro di Donald Glover e Beyoncé. Tra i brani inediti, oltre a Spirit di Beyoncé, c’è anche Never Too Late, una nuova canzone scritta e interpretata da Elton John, che ascolteremo nei titoli di coda. Elton John, insieme a Tim Rice e Lebo M., ha curato le canzoni del classico originale e le riedizioni per la versione 2019.
Ecco come descrive il nuovo brano: “Non è mai troppo tardi per il cambiamento. E questo è ciò che Simba scopre nel corso del suo percorso. Non è mai troppo tardi per cambiare idea: basta guardare alla propria vita e dire “devo cambiare”. A me è successo nel corso della mia vita. Ho avuto un’epifania nel 1990. Questo brano parla di questo, avere un’epifania e dire: “Ho bisogno di una nuova prospettiva sulla mia vita”.
